Our sweet young apple pie winners wearing their baking outfits made by their Auntie Lea.
Kyle on the right was the winner with a Deep Dish Apple Pie
Place your favourite pastry in a 9" pie pan and cover with 6 thinly sliced apples sprinkled with 2 tbsp. lemon juice. Sprinkle about 2 tsp. flour over all.
Make sauce by melting 30 caramels with 3 tbsp. of water and 1 tbsp. of butter. Drizzle sauce over top.
Make crumb topping of 1 cup packed brown sugar rubbed together with 1/2 cup all purpose flower, 1/2 cup quick cooking oats and 1/2 cup cold butter. Sprinkle over pie.
Bake 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Cool for one hour before slicing.
